the takeover
Left in peace for two months during the lockdown, the wild grasses took over and park lawns now look just like Nature intended! It won't last long, city gardeners will soon be showing up with their lawnmowers, so I made sure to have a picture of "the time Nature took back over" :)

Muchas gracias por tu comentario, José. Me da gusto de que la foto te haya recordado momentos de tu niñez :) En italiano a estas espigas le llamamos "fora-sacchi" por qué son muy agudas pero no me acuerdo haberlas usadas para batallas. Sin embargo, parece que hay otros, como Simon aquí en seguida, que también tienen este recuerdo. :)))

Thank you, Simon. They were indeed moving in the breeze. I am glad that the impression of movement carried over in the photo; thank you for letting me know.
It seems that both you and José (just above here) remember using the pointy seeds in childhood battles. I don't, but that may have something to do with the fact that back then boys and girls played very different games. I still enjoyed knowing about you guys' memories connected to these sprigs, though.
