phase 2 flag

phase 2 flag
Slowly restarting after the lockdown, Italy has now launched Phase 2 and reopened cafés and restaurants, albeit with some preventative measures, such as providing spaced-apart tables outside.
In the nearly two months long lockdown, the Italian flag posted on this outside terrace in Florence lost a bit of its color, but is still presiding over the hopes of the first European country to be hard hit by the Covid 19 virus.

HFF to everyone and ... finger crossed!

Thank you, Herb. Yes, it is a pleasant place in a quiet street with almost no through traffic and they used to make really good espresso. Still, we are going to wait a bit longer before we go back to restaurants and cafés. It would be a pity to end up catching the virus just as it is on its way out!

Yes, not many customers yet, especially for these out-of-the-way places, but they also have pastries so I imagine people do buy some take away sweets and stuff.
Thank you and have a nice Sunday!

Restaurants and cafés opened last Monday... I have been going every day, fed up with cooking, not easy to do it for one without repeat all the time, specially when like me one likes to eat and does not enjoy at all cooking !!!!
But where I live and surroundings we had no covid cases, so I cannot feel the same way as if I had been confronted with virus cases. Nevertheless I see some people here living in fear and I dont understand it... what would it be if they where in cities ?

I am lucky that I like to eat but also love to cook, so it has not been a big sacrifice for me that way. In fact it's been an excuse to experiment a bit and re-discover dishes I had not fixed for years :))) Where you live I would probably feel more at ease eating out and the neighbors you mention I think would have gone crazy if they had to live in a city!
