The poppies and the small yellow lamp looks so nice in this grey atmosphere! Impressive!

You did really well to find the article on the origins of the (unusual) phrase...

Glad you like it.
This church is next to the pub which hosted the firework display. The entire cemetery wall was covered in poppies too, but it was too dark to make a picture.
Certainly "We remember them"
Best Wishes, and a Good Weekend,

Don't remember who's quote it is.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Xata clubThank you for visiting and your thoughts. I looked on the internet..
The quote is most likely due to writer and philosopher George Santayana, and in its original form it read, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
Best Wishes
Peter

The poppies English symbol of the Fallen and the lamp universal symbol of remembrance emerge so significantly and evocatively from the darkness, that however it allows us to see the
impressive.church.
Lest we forget.
Best wishes

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Beatrice Degan(MARS)I am so pleased that you have enjoyed it, and written such nice words. I did look for some other pictures of this church in daylight, but I don't have any on ipernity. Unfortunately it was too dark to make nice pictures that night (except for this bit).
Maybe if I go back past there I can take some more..
Best wishes
Peter
