I had not seen this loco before, and it was not at Wernigerode next morning, so maybe it comes from the south of the line?
Perhaps a good advert for coming to the Severn Valley railway for its night time running weekend in 2020!

Wow -that is lovely lighting on this iconic Brocken train Peter. I was once at Wernigerode too and indeed photographed the trains but never with such light as this. ⭐ Very well done.

This kind of photo is very rare, since you need to be there on a cold night when the trains are running, and the timetable doesn't give much opportunity for that. I was lucky that all the ingredients fell into place that evening!
