I did some research too meanwhile! The first to say so is supposed to be Confucius.... and after Santayana, Churchill is supposed to have used the sentence too, but no concrete proof of it has been found in all documents about him.

impressive.church.

I am so pleased that you have enjoyed it, and written such nice words. I did look for some other pictures of this church in daylight, but I don't have any on ipernity. Unfortunately it was too dark to make nice pictures that night (except for this bit).

Maybe if I go back past there I can take some more..
