Apparently as many people got maimed or killed by a faulty or back-firing cannon as the enemy in the very early days!

Hi Andy,
Thank you for visiting!
I am so happy that you like the scene.
I can certainly believe this! How ever they could make a trustworthy casting for a cannon before the days of steel and machine tools, I just do not know!
Best Wishes,
Peter

My dear Füsun,

Thank you so much for your very kind visit here. As you will remember, this was a battle re-enactment from the old days. The only thing they were shooting was balls of straw (made form the pile in front of the cannon). I tried to get an action picture, so I am pleased that you like the result.

Love Peter

Hi Isabel ,
Thank you very much!
I'm happy that you had a good look and think!!
I suspect this is a modern day replica, made with the highest quality metals, and x-rayed for flaws every few firings!

Best Wishes,
Peter

Thank you ColRam,

Glad you like it!!

I suspect it is a modern copy of a very old gun.
Also, they are only firing balls of crumpled up straw, not real balls!!

Best wishes

Hi Val,
Thank you so much for your very kind visit.
I'm pleased that you have enjoyed it!
There were so many people milling around on the battlefield that it was hard to get a meaningful picture of the fighting, but I thought a cannon firing might be an idea..If I could time it right!
Best Wishes, and a Good Weekend,

Hi Rosa,
Thank you for visiting!
I'm happy that you had a good look!!
I am sure the participants enjoy living in the old days too, knowing they can come home to hot baths and tasty cooked food!
But, after the events of recent weeks, I do wonder which times were better!!!!

Best Wishes, and a Good Weekend,
Peter
