Summer is over.

Our weather today - wave after wave of storms. We certainly need the rain!
Sight and sound; no real relevance here, I just like Tim Buckley! www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMTEtDBHGY4

Wonderful comments! Thank you all!
The forecast is for more of the same over the next few days, which is good!
No flash floods for us as we live on the top of a hill but for those that live in dried-out river beds - and there are some - who knows? I wish them well!
Bonne et agréable soirée.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Malik Raoulda clubCertainly if there are some interesting skies, we tend to get them full-scale!
Many thanks!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Peter Castell clubWhich is one moment more than most politicians!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Ecobird clubI must admit that I do like a dramatic sky or three!
Living in Madrid centre up till 18 months ago - and in a lower floor flat in amongst tall appartment blocks - I only saw the sky if I left the building and went to the local park!
So this is a wonderful improvement on that, as you can well imagine, I'm sure!

Annemarie,
Many thanks to you both!
well done, Andy. BEst wishes, Sarah

Andy Rodker club has replied to Ulrich John clubIt's good to see you're getting some rain at last............but I hope it doesn't result in bad flooding.
You might need to get some welly boots to continue your walks............and a stronger brolly maybe!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton clubWellies are a cert. But I don't recall seeing them in the shops except at ludicrous prices! I'll have to do some research!
A new brolly - it's a pity because the last one was the strongest I ever had - it was a promotional gift from an engineering firm I taught at about 7-8 years ago and I hadn't lost it in all that time - amazing really because my average before that was about 3 a year!
Keith Burton club has replied to Andy Rodker clubAndy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton clubI'd long forgotten that one! He sang it when I saw him live many moons ago. One of the funniest shows I've ever been to! Brought the memories flooding back!!
Keith Burton club has replied to Andy Rodker clubRashid,
Many thanks to you both!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Nora Caracci clubAndy Rodker club has replied to Ronald Losure clubHave we talked about the fact that my husband wrote at least half of Tim Buckley's lyrics? And Song to the Siren is one of those! [Please forgive me if I've already told you this. It's my one claim to fame to be married to a man with such a magnificent way with words, a true poet.]
I'm really glad you like the version you linked to (from the Monkey's tv show). You might be interested in hearing the version where my husband talks of how this song came to be interspersed with the music, music performed by Stuart Anthony - not Tim's glorious voice, but a beautiful rendition none the less (and I think my husband's reciting voice is amazing). www.youtube.com/watch?v=coi_cP6okyE&ab_channel=VedantaVideo
We've had our first real clouds also today - but I have too many trees in the way to get a view like yours *smile*.
Andy Rodker club has replied to raingirl clubAndy Rodker club has addedI will have to go back and listen to more Tim Buckley as I only had 'Greetings from L A.' which I bought back in the day and which has remained one of my all time favourite albums. I used to bring that one into the 6th form common-room at school (6th form = 17 and 18 year olds before leaving school - not graduating - we reserve that for university!) and it was immediately popular. I didn't manage to make tim Buckley more popular in Britain unfortunately! I think Tim only really came into people's consciousness when his son Jeff became extremely successful in Britain and then people began hearing about his Dad. And it is a bit uncanny how similar their singing styles can be sometimes!
Anyway, I promise to listen out especially for Tim's songs where Hubby is the lyricist!
And thank you also for happy memories and a very enjoyable 15 minutes or so!
raingirl club has replied to Andy Rodker clubHey, thanks for trying to make Tim more popular in Britain *smile*!
It was really when This Mortal Coil recorded 'Song to the Siren' that England started taking notice of Tim - and then, yes, when Jeff became successful in England, that boosted Tim also.
I never got to meet Tim, but I did meet Jeff and hear him perform.
Larry has written more wonderful lyrics recently, and the band Eyelids put out an album called "The Accidental Falls" with all Larry's lyrics. Of course they don't include the great singing voice of Tim, but I still love the album. I got to be at the recording session, with Peter Buck (from REM) there producing the album, and John Moen (of the Decemberists) as one of the singers. The title track is Larry's translation of a Goethe poem into modern verbiage. I love the whole album, but if you wanted to listen to a track I think you can hear the sweet starting song on youtube. The song is called 'Dream': www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E7ADZWxD-s&ab_channel=Eyelids-Topic
Not sure if you can see this other one, but it is en Eyelids performance (with Larry and Peter Buck also playing) of a Tim Buckley/Larry Beckett song that never got released when Tim was alive. It's called 'Found at the Scene of a Rendezvous That Failed': www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv5eVOTjWek&ab_channel=JealousButcherRecords
(I'm just not sure about different countries being able to see certain youtube videos and I'm not that fond of the video itself, but the audio is cool. If you can't see the video I think you should be able to listen once or twice for free on bandcamp: musicofeyelids.bandcamp.com/track/found-at-the-scene-of-a-rendezvous-that-failed-w-peter-buck-lb-kk
Okay, okay. I'll stop.
Andy Rodker club has replied to raingirl clubI will have a session with all the links you kindly provided, as soon as I can, and I'm greatly looking forward to it!
All best wishes and many many thanks!
raingirl club has replied to Andy Rodker clubAnd I'm really glad to hear that you hae made it to the top of the family health list! I'm curious about the new vaccine you got. How exciting that you can fly again.
Andy Rodker club has replied to raingirl clubI forget its name but it's new and specifically designed for co-morbidity amd low immunity cases like me. I was amazed to find that it hasn't been accepted by the NHS. I need to know why, altough that's a touch academic know as I've already had it!
I've been very busy and haven't got round to listening to those musical links you kindly provided yet. I thought I would do so this afternoon but we had a brief burst of sunshine and I had to do some of the heavier garden jobs that are a bit too much for my mum now. She's 86 and still does a fantastic job in the garden, in the kitchen and she still plays competetive bowls (outdoor on a lawn, not the indoor type!)
As for Tim Buckley, I didn't know him but the variety of comments above shows his still great popularity!

A very nice cloud picture, which I like very much!
It looks like torrents of rain are coming. But as always, it is the 'wrong kind of rain!"
