Alaxandra Park boating lake

Alaxandra Park boating lake
This park really comes into its own at this time of year. Not only do we have the wonderful yellow and golds of Autumn but we also have a local grey heron waiting for sight of a fish. Rather unusual sky lighting as a big dark cloud was moving into the scene from the right. Breaking all the rules as well by having this big tree stump divide the picture in half :)

Worth full size.

This park shines in Autumn Füsun and its not bad in misty morning winters too. The composition is a bit strange but I liked the results anyway. The heron was a bonus but I did follow it over the lake on its flight. Glad you liked it, of course. Cheers, Herb

Captured the mood of the season Ok though Herb, Trees are a problem at times and it's a shame you can't move them out of the way, but they do not fully impose on the scene.

Ah always nice to see you Maurice. I have actually a few that I took form here, including those without the tree stump dissecting the scene but I rather enjoyed this break from my usual very tight composition rules. This showed the ground leaves better. The heron helped re-balance the scene. All in a days fun.

Thanks so much Christa. Autumn can be so nice with scenes like this. I think this heron lives nearby as I have seen it a few times. There are some biggish fish in this and its sister pond across the way here hence the fishing piers you can see.

There is a lot of truth in that Peter. In practice I take probably more like this than I would like to admit as composition now comes so natural to me. What matters is, that sometimes these are enjoyed by my viewers here.

Thanks Erika. Just our park lake but it is quite beautiful at times. I remember this being completely rebuilt some years back now, seeing it for nearly two years without water.

At first I thought it was the Alexandra park in Moss side (which also has a lake), and wondered how on earth they ever got it to look so nice.. But now I see it isn't!!

You know Peter, I think you have said exactly the same thing to another of my Alexandra Park shots (possibly in Panoramio) before. I have a feeling that that one is bigger at Moss Side. Anyway, so glad that you enjoyed and approve of ours here in Oldham.

The tree doesn't bother me Herb............in fact I like the details in the bark............and anyway, the "rules" are subjective and there to be broken!

Such a delightful place to have nearby.............especially at this time of year. A wonderful image sir!
