Ex-hoverfly

It has been seventeen years since I took this picture of a hoverfly and, although I remember my excitement at seeing one -- I hadn't noticed them before then -- I don't remember much about it. On the same roll of film there is a living one,and this one which looks quite dead.

[EDIT, a day later: I am told this is not a hoverfly. Rather it is Sesia apiformis, the Hornet moth.

And I realise once again how much I rely on others' expertise!] :)

The film was Fuji Reala and it was in my Nikon FM.
