Quand le lilas refleurit...

L’abbaye de Champagne est une ancienne abbaye cistercienne, elle est fondée en 1188 et s'enrichit rapidement. À partir du XIVe siècle, cette prospérité diminue et les moines voient leur domaine se rétrécir durant au moins un siècle. A la Révolution, l'abbaye ne compte plus que huit moines en plus de l'abbé. En 1791, l'abbaye est vendue comme bien national et transformée en exploitation agricole. En 1899, les bâtiments sont achetés par une famille qui la conserve encore aujourd'hui. À partir de 1981, la restauration commence et une activité de ferme-auberge et gîte permet de la financer.

WHEN THE LILAC BLOOMS AGAIN... Champagne Abbey is an ancient Cistercian abbey. It was founded in 1188 and quickly acquired wealth. From the 14th century, this prosperity waned and the monks saw their estate dwindle for at least a century. During the French Revolution, the abbey had only eight monks besides the abbot. In 1791 it was sold as a national estate and converted into a farm. In 1899, the buildings were bought by a family that has preserved them to this day. From 1981, restoration began, financed by a hostel and holiday flats.

WENN DER FLIEDER WIEDER BLÜHT... Die Abtei von Champagne ist eine alte Zisterzienserabtei. Sie wurde 1188 gegründet und erlangte schnell Reichtum. Ab dem 14. Jh. liess dieser Wohlstand nach und die Mönche sahen ihr Anwesen mindestens ein Jahrhundert lang schrumpfen. Während der frz. Revolution zählte die Abtei neben dem Abt nur noch acht Mönche. Im Jahr 1791 wurde sie als Nationalgut verkauft und in einen landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb umgewandelt. Im Jahr 1899 wurden die Gebäude von einer Familie gekauft, die sie bis heute bewahrt hat. Ab 1981 begann die Restaurierung, finanziert durch eine Herberge und Ferienwohnungen.
