I like the shot and was amused by the co-incidence of Saint Day, where I am staying currently, being originally called Saint Trinity.

Merci Henri, tu poses une question intéressante : pourquoi le canon est pointé vers l'église ? Sur cette place il y a quatre possibilités : le château, le musée, l'hôtel de ville, l'église... Peut-être les décideurs ont tout simplement tiré à la courte paille ?;-))) Bon weekend.

Ein ausdrucksstarkes Bild hast du gestaltet, Christa!
Die Kirche steht symbolhaft für den Frieden. Der amerikanische Sherman Panzer steht für die Rückeroberung besetzter Gebiete und als Wegbereiter eines dauerhaften Friedens in großen Teilen Europas. Nicht so recht anfreunden kann ich mich mit dem heroischen Auftritt meines Namensvetters. Schließlich hat er einen Großteil seines Lebens damit verbracht, durch unzählige Feldzüge und Zerstörungen seine Macht zu festigen. Parallelen dazu findet man in der Gegenwart.

Danke Wilhelm. Die Machtbesesseneheit der Entscheidungsträger zieht sich wie ein roter Faden durch die gesamte Geschichte der Menschheit. Ende der 60er Jahre sagte Jimi Hendrix "Erst wenn die Macht der Liebe die Liebe zur Macht übersteigt, erst dann wird die Welt endlich wissen, was Frieden heisst". Ich denke, leider sind wir noch Lichtjahre davon entfernt......

Je connais bien cette ville, ayant été responsable de l'agence de Ouest France dans cette ville où j'ai rencontré ma femme. A l'époque, si la statue de Guillaume était là, le char lui, ne l'était pas.

Le char de la Paix .Il a voyagé à Arromanches, Caen et jusqu'à Bastogne en Belgique avant de revenir à Falaise au printemps 2020. Oeuvre pochoirisée par Jef Aérosol .

Il y a quelques années j'ai vu une grande fresque sur l'île de Ré, il paraît qu'il l'avait réalisé avec l'aide des détenus de la maison d'arrêt de Saint Martin. Quand l'art libère au moins l'esprit...

I agree with you. If armament factories would completely be banned, it would be a big step towards peace. But this will never happen, there is too much money at stake!
Because as Jimi Hendrix already said: "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace". All these little men at the top of the countries only want this : power, influence, control (and money of course), they don't care a damn about their populations!!

This is true, although I do not imagine that in any way it is possible to ban factories. It's just that life experience says that bans are not a very effective way of solving problems, if only because when there is a ban, an incredible amount of effort necessarily will be spent to overcome or bypass this ban by force and tricks. Compulsion creates resistance.
It's ideally when something becomes simply uninteresting and unnecessary. We are improving ourselves, that's definitely, and I believe that one day it will be. But for now humanity is still not very far ooutgoing from the cave age and when there is not enough intelligence - fists and clubs come into play. There is still a long way to go... . And we have to overcome it. No options.
