Crinan Basin Blues

Captured at the Crinan Basin, the western end of the Cinan Canal at Argyll and Bute, Scotland.
The Crinan Canal runs from Ardrishaig to Crinan and is run by Scottish Canals. It is a very beautiful area, particularly when seen on a lovely day like this when everything looks so blue and the clear water echoes and reflects the canal scene

As the boats sail the canal they go through a series of locks which 'equalise' the level of the water in areas where the canal bed isn't uniform, bringing the water levels up or down as required

Thank you very much Gudrun. The weather was beautiful. The lighthouse is quite small and not a bit as impressive as the one in your recent post but it suits the area. I did have a close up of it but it has a bench beside it so I will save it for a HBM!!

Roger (Grisly) ^club

A great title to a beautifully composed image, a large view appears to revel a café on the quayside, a great place to sit and watch boat traffic on this busy canal.

Isn't that always the way Colin? You don't think you will need it and of course that is the very time that you see something interesting, and if I am honest I am rubbish at taking shots with my phone!

We once saw an eagle when we were in Scotland up a very steep and very narrow road. I spotted it through the glass roof but the camera was in the boot of the car and I was too terrified of heights to get out and retrieve it.

You got him though and the shot also shows how beautiful the landscape is.
