May brings out the wonders of nature as these beautiful tiny alpine perennials start to appear all ove the bridge. They make the bridge looks so picturesque and to add to the romantic feel they are known as Fairy Foxgloves. Alternatively it is known as alpine balsam, which suggests they may have once had a medicinal purpose.

Ecobird club has replied to José Manuel Polo clubThere is a pub just across from the bridge called the 'Tigh and Truish Inn' or the 'Hoose of Troosers!' It takes its name from a time before the bridge was built, and following the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745 when the wearing of kilts was banned on the mainland and the Seil Island men stopped here to change from kilts to trousers before crossing the Clachan Sound.
