This is a scene I know well, Carol. You have captured it well. The boat makes the ideal focal point. All the best, Joe

Thank you very much Joe. I discovered the boat belongs to Jack Kay who has a boat yard here. Juliet Kilo takes her name from the phonetic alphabet form of his initials. He took seven years to build her and she is a beauty.

I read an article about Ardrishaig by a man who actually met the boat yard owner who built this boat and went aboard. She is a beauty and took him seven years to build. He was 80 at the time, still working and living on his boat.

;-))) You are so right - but I am a lost cause I think!!!!

This beautiful boat was built by a man called Jackie Kay - hence the name Juliet Kilo from the phonetic alphabet. He owns a small boatyard in Ardrishaig and Juliet Kilo took him 7 years to build. Since the death of his wife he has lived aboard her for the most part and he keeps her beautifully maintained.

Thank you Edna.

It's more difficult for me as well the older I get. But I'm not even trying too hard ;-)

What an interesting story, Carol! And that explains why the boat looks so beautiful and well maintained. I wonder what it would be like to live on a boat? If it's quiet I might want to consider it... :-)
Ecobird club has replied to Edna Edenkoben club
Nor me. Ok it is good to be healthy but your nature, how much you love and care for others is more important to me - so if you have a big heart it might need a little more room :)) That is my excuse and I am sticking to it!!!!!!

It is the romance of that lifestyle that really appeals to me, - the freedom of the open road, well - canal, and it would be a peaceful life. Not sure about the practicalities of living in such a small space though. You would have to be super tidy and organised. It would be perfect if, like Mr Kay, you had a house as well so somewhere to store all your things and you could keep the boat relatively clutter free.

So if you manage to sell that high privacy property for an inflated price you know just what to do with the money. Be careful of the advertised description though or you could get there to find you have purchased a dinghy!!!!!!
Edna Edenkoben club has replied to Ecobird club
You said it so beautifully, Carol...a big heart needs more room :-) And this is indeed an excellent excuse :-))

Yes, I can definitely see your point about the romance of this lifestyle. As I already live in a small space (apartment) I'd be used to it. I'd just hope that life on a boat would be a lot more quiet than in an apartment. I'll gladly manage with little space in that case. And I do remember my boat tour on the Canal de Bourgogne many years ago where we lived on a boat for a week...and it sure was quiet :-)
Well, if not a house, perhaps a storage room that you could access if necessary would do.

LOL, I'll promise to be very careful, after all I should be able to catch on to those sales tricks right away. If not me who else??! ;-)))

Thank you very much Ulrich. The name of the boat intrigued me and I found out it belongs to a man called Jack Kay, the boatyard owner who built her and lives on her, so JK in the phonetic alphabet is Juliet Kilo. She is beautifully maintained.
