Crinan Basin Blues

Captured at the Crinan Basin, the western end of the Cinan Canal at Argyll and Bute, Scotland.
The Crinan Canal runs from Ardrishaig to Crinan and is run by Scottish Canals. It is a very beautiful area, particularly when seen on a lovely day like this when everything looks so blue and the clear water echoes and reflects the canal scene
As the boats sail the canal they go through a series of locks which 'equalise' the level of the water in areas where the canal bed isn't uniform, bringing the water levels up or down as required
I have added a link with a nod to this. Please listen to
'When I get low I get high' by the Speakeasy Three

An oyster catcher captured at Ardrishaig. Argyll and Bute, Scotland. I liked the way it stood out against the wall with it's bright beak and red eyes that almost seemed to glow.
I have added a song called 'Eyes on Fire' by Blue Oyster Cult

A seat at Ardrishaig Harbour. Ardrishaig is a small coastal village on Loch Gilp, an arm of Loch Fyne, and is the Gateway to the Crinan Canal, a nine mile stretch that links Loch Fyne to the Sound of Jura at Crinan opened in 1809.
Ardrishaig is an important harbour for the timber trade, with at least 30,000 tonnes of timber leaving from the second pier, just out of sight on the left, each year.
The lighthouse that can be seen in the picture is Ardrishaig Point Lighthouse

Inverary, Argyll and Bute and the renovated Clyde Puffer. 'Vital Spark' has pride of place by the jetty. The dark clouds threaten rain and the light and clouds are reflected in Loch Fyne.
I have added a song by Sleeping with Sirens called 'Save Me A Spark'

Run for Cover!

A raging storm and although I wanted some shots of the stormy sea and light on the water the wind and rain meant it was only possible to get a couple of quick shots and run back to the cover of the car.
I have added the link 'Run for Cover' by Gabrielle Aplin.

and as the rain was 'bucketing' down I have added a second link. Here is Maria Muldaur with her version of Dylan's 'Buckets of Rain'

Taken yesterday from Kintyre, separated from the Isle of Arran by the Kilbrannan Sound. The cows have breathtaking views behind them but are patently more interested in passing visitors. This is straight from the camera, with no editing. Please press 'z' to view large.

Castle Stalker in the warm glow of sunset.
The light was quite mystical and I have therefore added the link for a Paul Carrack version of 'Into the Mystic'. I felt this version had a mellow feel to it which better suited the mood of the scene.
