Hellisheiði eystri

The pass over Hellisheiði Eystri (ca. 660m) connects Héraðsflói with Vopnafjörður. It's gravel with many curves both sides of the pass but rerouting has reduced the gradient from the former 24% to only 14%. In winter the road is often closed.

Der Pass über Hellisheiði Eystri (ca. 660m) verbindet Héraðsflói mit Vopnafjörður. Es ist eine Schotterstrasse mit vielen, früher gefürchteten Kurven, die aber inzwischen von 24% auf 14% Steigung/ Gefälle entschärft woden ist. Im Winter ist die Strasse oft nicht passierbar.
