the other Tuscany - (PIPS)

the other Tuscany - (PIPS)
I went to Prato on business today and was once again struck by some of its beautiful landmarks. Less glamorous than Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano or the other famous locations, it is nonetheless very Tuscan and will surprise you with some truly charming "gems".
In the main image, the Praetorian Palace (Palazzo pretorio);
In the first PIP: one of the side portals of the Duomo;
In the second and third PIP: the Duomo's outer pulpit

Thank you, Jaap. Architectural images are not my strong suit, but sometimes I find places that are inspiring. I think it's too bad Prato is so little known and visited.

Thank you, George. Prato used to be known only for its "rags industry", an early form of recycling. But it is an interesting city from many points of view.

Thank you, Judite! Prato is smaller, quieter than Florence and has a bit of a "provincial" air to it, but I find it very interesting.

Hai ragione, Gabi. Ha uno strano mix di "egiziano" e "tribale" condito con la tipica policromia delle chiese toscane.
