Thank you, Diana. It does indeed have a fiery quality to it and "arresting" is a very good description. It did that even to me when I first put it up on screen, and I'm the one who took the shot! :D
Europe is indeed close to being on its knees with this pandemic. The vaccination is progressing slowly, amid delays and the enormous logistical complexity of such a huge vaccination drive. Meanwhile, even with strict mitigation measures, Italy is still losing hundreds each day and in some regions the health care system is really struggling. Tuscany is relatively spared and I must say people seem to have gotten more serious about following the rules. The second wave literally hit "closer to home" with clusters showing up within families rather than in specific work contexts and now nearly everyone has heard about a family member, a neighbour or an acquaintance who was struck. This seems to have made them pay closer attention and I don't hear quite so many "deniers" lately. Still, the government almost collapsed under the political strain of having to adopt very unpopular measures. It's going to be a tough winter and spring ... Thanks so much for your concern. I am so grateful to Ipernity friends who helped me stay strong through this!

Thank you, George. I always like it when light completely changes what would otherwise be a commonplace, drab, even dingy corner. In the shade, this fiberglass barrier is just a dull, brick-colored corrugated screen half hidden by overgrown bushes, but look what the sunlight did to it!
