un elegante edificio , ma non voglio pensare a quello che succedeva all'interno quando ancora era un "manicomio"...... HFF e un bel primaverile WE a te!!

Ora da molti anni gli edifici accolgono scuole, uffici, sedi di associazioni, residenze assistite, casa dello studente ecc. eppure non riesco mai a passarci senza "sentire" un "eco" delle storie e delle sofferenze di chi un tempo era letteralmente imprigionato qui. Quando mi sono trasferita in questa zona della città capitava di incontrare qualche paziente in giro per il quartiere (erano gli anni in cui si cominciava a sentire l'effetto del movimento Basaglia e ai pazienti considerati "non pericolosi" era consentito uscire) e con qualcuno a volte scambiavo due parole. Mi ricordo in particolare di Massimo, che parlava poco ma aveva negli occhi un'espressione "affamata" di contatto umano e di una donna che rifiutava di rivelare il suo nome e che invece parlava molto, con un linguaggio che a tratti pareva quello di uno scaricatore di porto e in altri momenti quello di un professore in cattedra. A lei, negli occhi, mi pareva di cogliere soprattutto una desolazione sconfinata da tempo ormai trasformata in una rabbia feroce. Con la chiusura dei manicomi sono spariti tutti, naturalmente, ma quasi sempre, quando vado a San Salvi, ho la sensazione che un pò delle loro storie siano rimaste attaccate ai muri.
In questa foto per me c'è questa dimensione ambigua: la "vita nuova" degli edifici rammodernati e ridestinati, ma anche le tracce di un passato terribile e dolente. Pensavo che difficilmente ad altri avrebbe fatto questo effetto e invece vedo che anche tu c'hai letto questo contrasto.

No. Insane asylums were closed down a long time ago. Now the buildings house offices of the national health service, schools, non profit associations etc. But I find it impossible not to feel a sort of echo of the terrible, sorrowful stories that must have taken place here at one time.

Thank you, HappySnapper. Actually there was a plan to do just that, in fact they wanted to turn it into something like a "gated community". But so far it has not been carried out and currently the buildings house offices, public services, non profit associations, an elementary school etc. Despite its horrible past, it's a beautiful park with majestic tall trees and interesting old buildings.
