Do you want to feed the rats?

'Three Countries Bridge' linking France and Germany.
This is the German side. France is across the Rhine, Switzerland is just to the left.

You are right, most of the swans seemed to be in France. I wonder if the rats will learn to cross the bridge over the Rhine, and invade France!!!
Love Peter

Maybe a good story to tell the next criminals in his court. while he is passing sentence on them, they can imagine the judge with his pants round his ankles, and a big fat rat waiting...!!!!
I am so happy that you like the bridge scene too.
Best Wishes,
Peter

Glad you like it. Interestingly, I didn't see an equivalent one on the French side..
Neither did I see any swans, or rats. Perhaps the notice is working, and they have migrated to France where the food supply is more favourable (as Füsun noticed)!
Best Wishes,
Peter

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to SteThank you so much for your very kind visit.
I'm happy that you had a good look!!
You are right, which is why feeding of the swans is discouraged!!
Literal translation differs slightly between the languages, but it means "Who feeds the swans, feeds the rats!"
Best Wishes,
Peter
We had a similar notice in a local nature reserve, where I used to see rats running across the paths! It seems people have heeded the warning as I haven't seen any there recently. Well spotted and a very nice linking bridge :)
Best regards,
Rosa.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneThanks very much for your visit here.
Interestingly enough I was away in Weymouth this last week, and saw a similar notice by the marina.. Perhaps it is a forward thinking Dorset initiative!!
Best Wishes
Peter
PS, sorry for lack of contact recently, I've been away again!
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to tiabunna clubThank you so much for visiting. I had never really noticed this kind of thing, and only included the sign to fill the space! It seems to be more interesting than the bridge!
Best Wishes
Peter
PS, sorry for late reply, I've been away again!
