Thank you so much for looking so carefully. Of course she is pretending to be a good Muslim by wearing all the black clothes, but I have it on good authority the good Muslims don't do tattoos, as it is against their religion to disfigure the body which Allah gave them. Hence fake!!
Unfortunately nobody seems to care!

You are right, sad as it is, there are too many tourist scams, and other immigrants on the scrounge in Europe. They do tend to stand out a mile though. (I didn't see this one getting anything)

As for genuine ones, I quietly give them something, and don't take their photos!

Can't speak for this person. As one who is involved with ESL for young adult refugees from Syria, among many other countries, here in Australia I've found that young adults had mostly done some English at school there. My impression is that education is valued there.

Unfortunately this kind of scam begging is far to common over in Europe. They prey on tourists with 'fake hunchbacks', all kinds of clipboard scams (https://www.test.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/47170824) , 'dropped ring', etc etc. A quick internet search will come up with loads of them.

There is no need for the genuine refugees to beg, social services look after them.

There has just been an item on the radio news about a scam in Australia using older Chinese people who were sent here on tourist visas to beg in Melbourne. They have been rounded up and are being sent home.

Because we have open borders in Europe, it is far too easy for the scammers to move from one country to the next..!

The ones in certain large railway stations are in well organised schemes, come down by train go into town if the BTP move them on and then back again at night.

Puts the genuine buskers and street traders at a real disadvantage.
