Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Nick Weall clubThank you so much. While the concept of a machete is not a bad idea, the bridge deck itself is supported on thick steel chains. Crossing of the bridge is carefully controlled, max 8 people on the bridge at once. Not so much because of a weight limit, more because if somebody freaks out or, otherwise causes disruption, there are only a max of 7 other people to interfere!!
Best wishes
Peter

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Steve Paxton clubYour visit and interesting comment is most welcome. Thank you!
In Scotland I came across a bridge constructed in the way you described, just 3 wires. It was July 2013, so I will try and find the picture, and post it. In the Scottish situation the only real consequence of falling off would be to get wet (or you could walk through the river and still get wet...!)
I'm happy that you like the picture of it!
Best wishes
Peter
Looks like there is a bit of a problem passing one another on the bridge! Not sure whether I would walk the bridge or not....I'm not very good with heights! It makes a great picture and I love your framing.
Best wishes, Rosa.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneThank you for looking and thinking!!! The guy in the red shirt is paid to control access onto the bridge, together with his opposite number at the other end. Eight people from the queue at a time, so no crossing, no overloading, and a manageable situation if something goes wrong!
The most difficult bit is keeping your balance without being a sissy and holding the sides!
(which the lady in white has not achieved!)
Best wishes
Peter
