Hi Andy,

Thanks very much! Of course with something like this, and our elf n safety culture, you can bet your life that they have so many rules, regulations, etc to satisfy the insurance!

Best Wishes

Hi Steve,

Your visit and interesting comment is most welcome. Thank you!
In Scotland I came across a bridge constructed in the way you described, just 3 wires. It was July 2013, so I will try and find the picture, and post it. In the Scottish situation the only real consequence of falling off would be to get wet (or you could walk through the river and still get wet...!)
I'm happy that you like the picture of it!

Best wishes

Hi Rosa,

Thank you for looking and thinking!!! The guy in the red shirt is paid to control access onto the bridge, together with his opposite number at the other end. Eight people from the queue at a time, so no crossing, no overloading, and a manageable situation if something goes wrong!
The most difficult bit is keeping your balance without being a sissy and holding the sides!
(which the lady in white has not achieved!)

Best wishes

Hi Peter, I have arrived here from your link to my photo of the same bridge in 2022. Quite a different view to mine as I never actually got onto it. You do furnish facts that I did not know even after my research, ie the number of people allowed on here in one go and also the fact that it is supported by steel chains. ~ A great view and it is nice that you managed a photo whilst keeping your balance.
Cheers for sharing. Herb
