Castleshaw Lower reservoir

Castleshaw Lower reservoir
Just a 15 minute car ride away and then a 45 minute walk brings you to this spot. It is the lower of two same named reservoirs to where I walk along quite a nice path from the village of Delph. I am stood almost on the dam embankment of the higher reservoir. This area was the home of a Roman fort in days long gone by. Only some ditches and mounds remain.
PiP = nearby Winter scene.

Thanks Peter -unfortunately (or fortunately) most of our English landscapes are like this (man made) as you know. It does add a further dimension to what we see and in the case of the scenery in this photo is quite pleasant. Much better than the built up bedlam Urban areas that I too live really live in. ~ Herb

Glad you liked this Steve. Not sure if you have seen this area before from me. Did you notice the Canada Geese near the right hand tree?

Cheers, Herb
