Beach Huts

Beach Huts
I had a couple of hours walk along the beach at Hayling Island this morning while my wife was off having coffee with her friend. It was warm and breezy and very pleasant.

It's a bit early in the season for these beach huts to be used yet. There were quite a few people cleaning, painting and doing repairs though, for when summer eventually gets here.

They never seem the same out of season Keith. I bet these huts down here are priced similar to many full houses in the North West. Nice capture.

I actually like them out of season Herb...........all the imperfections, peeling paintwork etc; make for much more interesting photos.

I don't know the prices but I do know that they are ridiculously expensive and that there is a 10 year or so waiting list if you want to rent rather than buy!

I don't think they've ever lost their popularity down here Peter..........the waiting list to rent one is around 10 years, I believe.

Diese Hütten gefallen mir sehr gut,weil sie alle ihren eigenen Stil haben lieber Keith,ja,es ist besser Frauen unter sich zu lassen und du hast eh das Beste gemacht,schön hast du diese Hütten seitlich aufgenommen und in deinen Pip liebt jemand seine Hütte :))

I like the variety and the colours, some of the upmarket resorts insist on uniformity which takes the character out of things.

Ha, ha..........I know what you mean Roger............Hayling Island remains stubbornly old-fashioned in that respect, which is fantastic.

I love the array of colours on the huts. Do people stay in them or just use them to change clothes for swimming? I would agree with the sentiment of the note on the blue door.

They are quite lovely aren't they............glad you like them Eunice.

You're not allowed to stay overnight in the huts........but people normally spend the entire day there.........most will have basic cooking facilities and comfortable seating etc. There are toilets and water taps nearby. A lot of people use them all year round..!!
