Sunbathing Terrapins

Spotted taking in the sunshine, in the waters of Petersfield Heath Pond. They are not native to the UK, but sadly, are often kept as pets indoors in glass tanks.
These are most likely pets which grew too large for their tanks and so were dumped into the pond. I've spotted them in the pond, before, but this is the first time I've seen more than one at the same time.

Keith Burton club has replied to Fred Fouarge clubSometimes here some escape or decide to move to another spot and unfortunately cross the road... I saved a few through the last years, take them back to a river bank, many people here do the same.
Keith Burton club has replied to Xata clubI'm pleased to hear that you and others help the animals..........that's very kind of you all.
