A beautiful rendition of this wonderful historical vessel. The PiP looks just as good too. I have been on a very quick tour of the ship and took photos too. Maybe I should resurrect them here on Ipernity after a few years in Panoramio. :) ⭐ Well done.

Yes, it was a harsh and unforgiving life for a seafarer in those times!

J'adore ces vieux bateaux. C'est aussi un régal pour la photo. , il en vient parfois à Bordeaux. Ce n'est pas trés loin de chez moi mais je ne suis pas trés à l'aise dans les grandes villes maintenant.

Another kind of navigation….

Yes............and it didn't rely on computers..!!

Didnt either when I started, we could even choose the route without being controlled (well, not in the Channel, already too busy). Navigation was uninteresting at the end, no freedom of choice, too much paperwork… Big Brother in control… I was no longer the “ only master on board after god”… and as I dont believe in any god…

I never got involved in that sort of thing Isabel...........my job was basically seeing to the welfare and discipline of the crew!

We had a whole department full of navigation experts to worry about that :-))
