Another day in July
Bee in the weigela
Loud and low
Starling in the rain
Softball net and radio tower
Probably a song sparrow
Some sky
Sparrow in my in-laws' backyard
Robberfly
Day Five Moon
Young starling, brazen
Some beer
Neighbour's mock orange
Sternlaw's birthday
Truck's arse
An apple
Bee on vetch
Knapweed they call it now
Milbert's tortoiseshell
The Other Minnie
Blown
Old film, old camera, old friends in the pandemic
Painted pink
House fly
Cat's paws in the background
Just before moonrise
Last night's moon rising
Not for long, though
Minnie, contemplating
Some bee
Three day old Moon
Like no one else at our latitude
Self-portrait with cat and fireplace
Promises, promises
Forget-me-nots
Our kitchen friend
Two bees
Yellow warbler just showing off
Morning before the blinds were opened
The man a crow left behind
The tree's last lighting
Morning sun on plants
Luna at 96.6% illuminated, and then over-exposed
Downy woodpecker back at his well-tuned percussion
The moon last Saturday night

July second; seven degrees; fireplace at the ready

Unlike the western part of North America, we at the extreme eastern part are not experiencing a heat wave. As I write, I hear some brave souls firing off fireworks in our neighbourhood, dodging the rain, and no doubt wearing some warm clothes. It was much too wet last night, July 1st, to fire fireworks.
It is seven degrees right now (uhh, that's about 43 degree F). That's about what it was last night, too.
So we've lit a fire in the fireplace. The cat lay in front of it until I brought in the camera when she moved to the chesterfield.
The cat likes having a fire. And it's warming the house considerably.
