Sur Chausey, il faut chercher pour trouver un endroit d'où on ne voit pas la mer! Sur le collage on voit l'entrée du fort dont la construction fut achevé en 1866 sur ordre de Napoléon III. Il a abrité 300 prisonniers de guerre pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. Il abrite aujourd’hui des familles de pêcheurs qui y vivent toute l’année. En bas à gauche on voit l'un des deux puits d'eau douce sur l'île. La chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Victoires domine les habitations et a été construite au XIXe siècle à l'époque où 500 carriers habitaient l'archipel.

DECORATED WITH FLOWERS. On Chausey, you have to look hard to find a place where you can't see the sea! The collage shows the entrance to the fort completed in 1866 by order of Napoleon III. It housed 300 prisoners of war during WW I. It is now home to fishing families who live there all year round. On the lower left is one of the two freshwater wells on the island. The Notre-Dame-des-Victoires chapel overlooks the houses and was built in the 19th century, when 500 quarrymen lived on the archipelago.

BLUMENGESCHMÜCKT. Auf Chausey muss man schon etwas suchen, um einen Ort zu finden, von dem aus das Meer nicht zu sehen ist ! Auf der Collage ist der Eingang zum Fort zu sehen, das 1866 auf Befehl von Napoleon III. fertiggestellt wurde. Während des 1. Weltkriegs waren dort 300 Kriegsgefangene untergebracht. Heute beherbergt es Fischerfamilien, die das ganze Jahr über dort leben. Unten links sieht man einen der beiden Süsswasserbrunnen auf der Insel. Die Kapelle Notre-Dame-des-Victoires überragt die Häuser und wurde im 19. Jh. erbaut, als 500 Steinbrucharbeiter auf dem Archipel lebten.
