Thousand years of history behind the fence - HFF

The Priory was founded in 1080, and declined with the Black Death in the 14th century, the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion. In the second half of the 18th century, the medieval buildings were completely demolished and rebuilt in the style of the period, with the exception of the church, which is the only architectural reminder of the Romanesque monastery of the early 12th century. Today, in the heart of vineyards and olive groves, stands the sumptuous "Château-Abbaye de Cassan", now a museum and venue for exhibitions and various cultural events.

Le Prieuré est fondé en 1080, le déclin vient avec la Peste noire au XIVe siècle, la guerre de Cent Ans et les guerres de religions Dans la seconde moitié du XVIIIe siècle, les bâtiments médiévaux sont entièrement rasés et reconstruits dans le style de l'époque, sauf l'église qui est le seul témoin architectural du monastère roman au début du XIIe siècle. Aujourd'hui au cœur des vignes et des oliviers se dresse le somptueux Château-Abbaye de Cassan, devenu musée, lieu d'exposition et de différents évènements culturels.

TAUSEND JAHRE GESCHICHTE HINTER DEM GITTER. Das Priorat wurde 1080 gegründet. Der Niedergang kam mit der Schwarzen Pest im 14. Jh, dem 100-jährigen Krieg und den Religionskriegen. Mitte des 18. Jh. wurden die mittelalterlichen Gebäude vollständig abgerissen und im Stil der damaligen Zeit wieder aufgebaut, mit Ausnahme der Kirche, das einzige architektonische Zeugnis des romanischen Klosters aus dem frühen 12 Jh. Heute erhebt sich inmitten von Weinbergen und Olivenbäumen das prächtige "Château-Abbaye de Cassan", jetzt ein Museum und ein Ort für Ausstellungen und verschiedenen kulturellen Veranstaltungen.
