Under the Ivy

Captured at Steart Drove, Stockland Bristol, Somerset.

I liked the way the wall curves and then just stops, the reason for it being there maybe long forgotten. I also found the ivy on the wall quite attractive.

Thank you very much Malik. I don't know but imagine it may well have been attached to a building which has since been demolished. I would be surprised if the field was used for cattle as there is nothing beyond the wall to keep them in!!

Thank you very much George. Yes it is strange but it may well have been attached to a barn or building that was later demolished. I imagine the feild does not get ussed for cattle or they would end up out in the road!

Thank you very much Henri. Beyond the horizon lies the start of Bridgwater Bay and the Bristol Channel. Whilst not strictly beautiful in a chocolate box pretty kind of way there are some lovely little points of interest to photograph along the way

I like this picture very much!
It is a very interesting puzzle. I spent a while looking on Google, and I can see a definite rote from the road to the sea alongside the wall, so perhaps it was a minor road, path, or even drainage ditch, and the curve of the wall was to strengthen the corner.
