A Walk in Long Shadows

An evening walk around the old Sunday School area at Castle Douglas. The evening light was beautiful and I loved the way the long shadows threw patterns across the fields. I have added three PiPs from along the way.

This is my kind of scenery, but I think you would need to have a heart of stone not to smile at the beauty , peace and tranquility of the landscape.

I have added a Fleetwood Mac song called 'Heart of Stone' as a tribute to the hugely talented Christine McVie. RIP Songbird

Towards evening the shadows lengthen and create large areas sheltered from the sun. Beautiful contrasts between light and shadow, a photo that inspires peace and silence.
