Austrian Tenor
Studied with Richard Levy and in 1869 engaged for a short time at Dresden, 1871 at the Braunschweig Court Theatre. In 1872 he returned to Dresden, but was still in the same year at the Wr. Komische Oper , committed. 1875-1912 in Dresden, 1883 Kammersänger.Sang in the premiere’s of Strauss’s opera’s “Feuersnot” as Tulbech in 1901 and “Salome” as the 4th Jew in 1905. His roles included : Faust ( Faust); Erik (Flying Dutchman); Arnold (William Tell); Romeo (Romeo and Juliett); Alfredo (La Traviata); Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor); Tamino (The Magic Flute); Belmonte (Abduction from the Seraglio); Rodolfo (Bohème); Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro).
