Way, way up

Way, way up
Rather blown-out and harsh because of looking way up into a very tall tree on a bright, sunny day, but thought I'd still post this more distant view of one of the two Northern Hawk Owls that several of us were lucky enough to see on March 21st. Too many close-ups tend to do funny things to my eyes, so probably have the same effect on some of you : ) If you have time and are interested, check out my words about our exciting day under one of the other photos I posted in the last couple of days.

The Northern Hawk Owl is a medium-sized owl, about 35 centimetres (14 inches) long. It is rare to uncommon in Alberta, year round. Apparently, it is one of Alberta's most sought-after birds.
