A different angle

Not a very photogenic angle, but I wanted to add it to my Northern Hawk Owl set. This angle does make the tail look short, though, which it isn't. As usual, full zoom and cropping make this little bird of prey look as if it is sitting just above my head, which it wasn't : ) I was out there yesterday and it was such a slow day - again. The day on which I took this photo and almost all my other photos was unusual. Any other time I have been out there (and from what a few others are saying), there is little if any activity and this little owl is up in one or other of the extremely high trees. Really hoping that this is normal behaviour and not a result of more people hearing about them and driving out there. Northern Hawk Owls are said to be curious and fearless of humans, so hopefully they are not feeling bothered.
