Pileated Woodpecker / Dryocopus pileatus

We came across this beautiful female Pileated Woodpecker while on a three-hour walk through the woods at North Glenmore Park on Saturday morning. Most of my photos either showed a blurry head or the head was stuck in the hole she was excavating, but I was lucky to at least get this one. They are such huge birds and spectacular, and I love their striped breast feathers. The male Pileated has a red moustache and the red crest comes down over the forehead. Though it doesn't look like it, this bird was way above me.
