Six more months to go

Yes, still six more months to go till the peak of mushroom season here in Alberta, though we may come across odds and ends before August. Back in September, I was following a tiny Wren round two large trees in Fish Creek Park, hoping to get a photo, when I suddenly caught sight of these fungi growing from the side of one of the trees. Can't remember if I ever did catch the Wren - I suspect I may have got distracted, ha. Thanks, Doug, for the lichen ID of "probably Xanthomendoza fallax".
It looks so beautiful outside today, with the sun finally shining after all the snow we got yesterday. However, it's -21C with a windchill of -32C, too cold to go out for a walk and take photos. By Tuesday, things should be warming up somewhat, thank goodness. Time to go and make a mug of steaming hot coffee : Stay warm, everyone!
