garden finds

garden finds
Spring is by far my favorite time of the year and being confined at home at this time is undeniably a bummer. But really I should not complain, since I am one of the lucky ones who have a garden where I can still enjoy glimpses of Nature's awakening. Here's a still life of the colorful finds I collected in the garden yesterday. Have a good week, everyone.

Hi, Isobel. I live in Florence, Italy, and we are on lockdown, confined at home until April 3rd (at least) in an effort to slow down the corona virus epidemic. I work from home and we can go out only to get food or medicines. Thank you for the kind comment!

I think it will soon be the same here, it is arriving in Spain already. I realize I am happy to live far from big towns... and have a secondary house in the middle of nowhere.

C'est pas grave ce confinement,ça va passer et heureusement que vous avez un jardin qui vous rapproche de la nature et de découvrir pas mal de nouveautés qui passent inaperçues en temps normal...Profitez de votre jardin et savourer ces instants.
Bonne semaine.

Lovely presentation Annalia, Yes we (Over 70s) are being asked to go into 4 months of isolation, I just think of all those women with children fleeing the bombs in Syria with no where to go and nobody wanting them. Makes my self isolation painless.

I look forward to the day when such lovely living things will be apparent in my garden. The snow there is still between two and three metres high.

Stay safe. I hope your seclusion ends soon.

Sorry for the late reply, Justfolk. Working from home means I have to requisition the home computer for 8 hours a day and, when I am done, give it over to my husband so he can have some time on it. That leaves me little opportunity for photo processing and for "playing" here on ipernity. :(
We hardly ever get snow here in Florence and the season of course is much further along here. But your time for spring images will come! Thanks for stopping by.

A beautiful collection, Annalia. We've decided it's prudent for us to go into self isolation as far as possible and just today I was thinking it may well be useful to grow some vegies to help with catering.

I think that's wise, George. And by keeping yourselves out of harm's way you also contribute to denying the darn virus the chance to spread. My garden is on the north side and not favourably placed for growing vegetables, unfortunately. But if yours is, you should definitely try. It's amazing how much satisfaction one gets out of seeing things grow and homegrown veggies just seem to taste so much better!
Good luck with everything.

This is a beautiful picture of many of nature's wonderful gifts. I'm just the same, I can always keep busy at home with a camera, and the way things are at the moment, it's important for us to have our hobbies and be able to talk to other people online. Stay safe!

Thank you for stopping by, Raven. You are completely right. And, in a sense, this brings home to me that the homey, everyday things can also make good subjects. Just have to practice that most essential trait for a photographer: being observant!

Ciao, Annemarie.
