rusty fence, broken glass

rusty fence, broken glass
A few summers ago the area of the Anconella Park was hit by a freak weather phenomenon known as a "downdraft". Many of the park trees were uprooted or snapped off and most windows in the area were smashed. Looks like this particular house was abandoned and nobody has bothered to make repairs since. Thought the rusty old fence went rather well with the general air of disrepair.
HFF and a nice week end to all!

Superb colours

Great composition, which really gives a feel for the abandoned area.

Thank you, Peter. It was my husband who pointed out this detail to me, but, yes, I can claim responsibility for working on the composition :)
HFF back to you and enjoy your weekend!

Oh wow...your information is a total bummer, what a drag for the folks who gave up on the house. :(

Loved the fence with its rusty crusty appearance!

Thank you, Janet. We live just across the river from this spot and lost three beautiful Lebanon Cedar trees to the downdraft, not to mention having to redo part of the roof ... Fortunately no victims, but the fury of the wind was pretty scary!
"Rusty crusty" is a wonderful description for this old fence. Thank you!
Have a wonderful week end.

Yep! It's been a few years but in several places one can still see the "scars" of that disaster. We lost three stately trees in our garden and spent several thousand euros on roof repairs. The freakiest part was that hail was shot horizontally by the fury of the wind, so many of the window blinds around the neighbourhood looked like they had been machine-gunned. My cat went and hid in the cellar until the noise stopped!
A nice weekend to you too and thanks for your comments, Trester.

Quiet a blessing for the photographer but such shame that the building has been abandoned.

Belated HFF Annalia...a very clear impression of quietly decaying man made things. The power of nature is very strong!
I hope you are having an interesting weekend...D

I was intrigued myself by how the wild grasses and overgrown shrubs ha promptly taken over the abandoned garden :)
Restful weekend mostly, as I hope was yours! Thank you for the visit and comments, Diana. Have a nice week ahead.
