Happy (Wet) Wall Wednesday!

fall fence

HFF to everybody out there, those who are locked down (again), those who are on "soft lockdown", those who are in red-orange-yellow zones, those who have to fend for themselves because their government says it's up to the individual, and the few lucky ones whose country was tough enough to slam the door on the virus face (I know of only two such countries at this time, New Zealand and Taiwan, but perhaps there are more?). Wherever you are and whatever disruption you are facing because of the pandemic, I hope for this weekend you can turn your thoughts elsewhere and do something that makes you feel good.

colorful berries (PIPS!)

When we think of fall colors, autumn leaves are the first thing that comes to mind, but berries also contribute their startling hues to the season!

autumn on the wall

One can always count on the Virginia creeper to put up an amazing autumn show. This particular colorful curtain was overshadowing a wall by the Arno River Bank path and I had to literally wait my turn to take a couple of shots of it, as nearly everybody who was out for a Saturday afternoon walk seemed to have fallen for its charm. In the pip: a closer look at the berries. Hope everyone had a good weekend despite the lockdowns that are either already en force or looming on the horizon. I confess I spent it outside taking pictures instead of answering your kind and generous comments. I know you will forgive me since it looks like we might soon be confined at home again (parts of Italy might be given lockdown orders already on Monday).

garden finds

Spring is by far my favorite time of the year and being confined at home at this time is undeniably a bummer. But really I should not complain, since I am one of the lucky ones who have a garden where I can still enjoy glimpses of Nature's awakening. Here's a still life of the colorful finds I collected in the garden yesterday. Have a good week, everyone.
