Yes, I went down here once. The path became non-existent very quickly. The path was actually at the next gap in the ridge. I didn't make that mistake again. I was alright but my t-shirt got torn to shreds!!

Don't worry. I assessed the risk at each step and would have returned the way I came if I couldn't find a possible route down at any stage.

Well, it's not the way down - the proper path is at the next gap on the ridge! So, yes, this was hard! And steep. And thorny!! I THOUGHT it was a way down on my first visit. Only later did I realise my mistake!!

Simple. I had a last bus to catch in 3.5 hours and I needed to walk back round the underside of the ridge. So I had to get down somewhere and this looked suitable, at least from the top! This shot was taken in 2014. The time I went down here was in 2011, when I was only just getting to know the Sierra! Now I know every rock!

I don't recall seeing that option on my limited editing tool but I achieved a sort of b/w effect by other means so I might see if it works. If I post nothing it will be because I haven't liked the effect and b/w doesn't often appeal to me anyway. But thanks for the suggestion!

I seem to have one. Unfortunately my lovely girlfriend suffers from vertigo so we tend to go for walks on the flat. When I manage to get away, it is usually because of some personal or family commitment of hers . That is one reason why my visits here have dwindled significantly in recent years. Thanks Roger!
