Spanish lavender, Sierra de La Cabrera

I went to see if I could get some wild tulip and poppy shots yesterday.
No joy.
I got Spanish lavender and orchids instead!
Wonderful walking country and more or less undiscovered with Madrid only 25 miles away!

Thank you all very much!
Anyway, a harsh, yet intriguing landscape. Excellent composition with this shot!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Diane Putnam clubMy problem with this is that I have never had the joy of sampling a miniature rooster on a stick. In fact the thought appals me. What do they do? stunt them in the chicken factory (farm isn't the right word), then impregnate them on sticks for sale to a willing public?.
Obviously something lost in the midatlantic linguistic fog!
Please correct me!
Anyway, the aroma is strong, but only when crushed between forefinger and thumb.
(ringfinger and little finger doesn't quite cut the mustard!)
Diane Putnam club has replied to Andy Rodker clubAndy Rodker club has replied to Diane Putnam club... In my experience. Others will no doubt differ.
Don't you worry about the finger thing, Diane. It only came to mind because I asked some students, 'I am English. You are Spanish. How many fingers do I have?'
Can you guess their various responses?
Clue; everything but the correct answer (and, no, I haven't had an unfortunate accident with a digit or two!).
Ich wünsche Dir eine gute Woche,

Usually you would be right in that there is nobody here. Perhaps I see a dozen bods on a bank holiday (on a 10 hour walk!) but on a week day; no one at all!
However, on this day, there were a few hundred people very close. Just out of camera shot to the left and down the hill a short way is a 'tanatorio', a place for resting the body of a deceased person prior to burial where people can pay their respects and the place was heaving! Only the skill of the photographer kept the 100s of parked cars out of shot!!
Best wishes,
Andy
