On an Old Rugged Cross…

Looking like a rustic cross on its side here, is part of the fence to the back of our Devonshire cottage we hired last year. To the back of that were vast fields of wheat that rattled in the breeze but unfortunately not a red poppy in sight. The brown rusty leaves on here, old Ivy I think, were a bonus.

A wonderful image Herb, I'm surprised there was anything growing in the wheat, amongst my photos there is one of a cut field not a sign of a weed (page 19). Many years another was a West Indian guy he was always singing The Old Rugged Cross, I doubt if he is with us now, I know to many dead people. Glad you liked this Peter. Yes far more foreigners in this field than yours. I think they are using less weed killers nowadays. Thanks for your link. The Old rugged Cross, I used to sing too and have pleasant memories of doing so. As really, a religious song it was no surprise that an old West Indian would have sang this with love.
