Still Life: A day at the seaside

Still Life: A day at the seaside
After posting three of my latest still life shots that went into the latest SPC I have decided to reveal some more of my other still-life experiments now. I hope you like seeing them on here as much as I did creating them.

This scene reminded me of some table mats that I once used on a sea-side holiday. Hence the raised edges giving the same effect here. Notice the fishing nets!

Well, I can't go to the seaside yet, but you've certainly brought the seaside to us Herb.

You've arranged the shells perfectly and I love the details and the subtle colours. The background (including the hint of fishing net) is ideal for the subject matter.

Hope you have your bucket & spade too my friend. Glad you liked the arrangement. I did try other combinations as I thought there were too many here but they just did not seem to look right either. I even tried high contrast and some other ingredients but sometimes less is more. Another tomorrow.

Thanks Poly. Actually these shells were found over several years of beach trips. Being surrounded by sea's, I see a lot of sand but as you say, not all that many complete shells.
