Towards 'Pots and Pans' over the reservoir

Towards 'Pots and Pans' over the reservoir
Yes, the hill we are looking at here is actually called 'Pots and Pans'. A cool morning with white frost on the ground, just about evident here on the bottom of the picture. From the higher surrounding Saddleworth Moors, mist is slowly dropping down but behind me the sun is fighting to come out.

Enjoy large.

The name actually refers to the obelisk (out of sight here) which sits on top of this hill Maurice.

A delightful image Herb...................the light on the distant hills is exquisite! I like the blue and grey cloudy sky as well and it's reflection on the water has brought out some lovely tones and textures. Only the frosty foreground gives a hint of how cold it is there!

Impressive work!

Thanks Keith. This, as you know is my most popular walking and photographic area. Since I have done it so many times, it is now harder to try and get different photos from here -although I realise too that the vast majority of my shots of the Dovestones area were only on Panoramio. Some are coming back here. In the meantime its great that you enjoy this latest crop of photos. It was a wee bit nippy Keith.

Cheers, Herb
