I Giardini della Reggia sono oggi diventati uno stretto connubio tra antico e moderno, un dialogo virtuoso tra insediamenti archeologici e opere contemporanee. La monumentale statua dell’Hercole Colosso, originariamente posizionata all’interno della Fontana dell’Ercole, dialoga con le opere di noti artisti contemporanei come Giuseppe Penone e Giovanni Anselmo, il tutto incorniciato in un'incomparabile visione all'infinito che non ha riscontri analoghi fra i giardini italiani per la magnificenza delle prospettive e la vastità del panorama naturale circondato dai boschi del Parco della Mandria e dalla catena montuosa delle Alpi. I giovani Giardini della Reggia di Venaria, inaugurati solo nel 2007, superata la prima fase di assestamento, stanno entrando, come un adolescente, in un momento importante della loro crescita ed evoluzione durante la quale iniziano a delinearsi in maniera più evidente e definita gli elementi caratterizzanti e la "forza" del loro disegno, a testimonianza di una continua trasformazione naturale che nel panorama dei grandi giardini storici europei rappresenta un'esperienza unica. La loro visita può dunque costituire una piacevole sorpresa anche per chi li ha già visitati in passato. Oltre ad una semplice passeggiata o alle visite guidate con specifici itinerari didattici, i Giardini possono essere esplorati in altri modi divertenti, come con il trenino Freccia di Diana, la Gondola o la Carrozza a cavallo. Dal 5 maggio 2021 è visitabile, presso la Scuderia Grande della Reggia di Venaria, la Carrozza di Napoleone, dopo gli accurati interventi di restauro del Centro Conservazione e Restauro "la Venaria Reale". La carrozza venne realizzata a Parigi nei primi anni del 1800 da Jean-Ernest-Auguste Getting carrozziere di Napoleone. Portata da Parigi in Italia, esposta al Museo di Marengo dal 1845 per circa un secolo, dopo diversi passaggi di proprietà e vicissitudini al limite della leggenda (tra gli altri, appartenne anche a Gustavo Adolfo Rol), dal 1955 è parte del patrimonio della Fondazione Ordine Mauriziano, Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi dove tornerà fra un paio di anni circa. Con la Carrozza sono esposti opere e oggetti legati alla presenza di Napoleone in Piemonte, richiamando idealmente la sala napoleonica del percorso di visita permanente della Reggia. Il restauro è stato deciso in concomitanza con l’anniversario dei 200 anni della morte di Napoleone: l’opera non era mai stata oggetto di uno studio scientifico strutturato che ha rilevato scoperte interessanti ed informazioni inedite sulle vicende storiche del manufatto. ------------------------------------------------------------- From May 5, 2021 it is possible to visit, at the Scuderia Grande of the Reggia di Venaria, Napoleon's carriage, after the careful restoration of the Centro Conservazione e Restauro "la Venaria Reale". La Galleria Grande della Reggia di Venaria incontra l’arte contemporanea ospitando La giostra di Nina, l’installazione dell’artista Valerio Berruti. L’opera, inaugurata pochi giorni prima della chiusura dei musei di novembre, è fortunatamente rimasta lì ad attendere il pubblico. L’opera, che l’artista ha plasmato personalmente, ha un diametro di 7 metri e si ispira agli antichi caroselli. Di grande impatto visivo ed emotivo, l’opera si inserisce in maniera sublime all’interno della Galleria Grande tra giochi di luci offerti dalle enormi vetrate e gli stucchi del lungo corridoio della splendida residenza alle porte di Torino. La Galleria, che collegava gli appartamenti del re a quello del principe ereditario, è uno degli spazi più sorprendenti e spettacolari del complesso. Le sue magnifiche decorazioni sono opera di Pietro Filippo Somasso, Giuseppe Bolina, Antonio Papa e Giovambattista Sanbartolomeo.
