Ivy...........an abstract view!
I spotted these ivy stems clinging on to a white garage wall this morning and I thought they'd make a great abstract shot. I converted the image to black and white and increased the contrast and detail.
Spring Snowflakes
Not to be confused with Spring Snowdrops.
I have a small clump of these in my garden and as the weather was far too wet and windy, I decided to bring a couple of them indoors to photograph.
Captured in natural light, using a piece of black card as a background.
Please check out the PiP for another shot. Thanks for looking :-)
Ivy
The Beacon
Taken in my local country park last week..........the Beacon is a folly built in 1830 in the style of a Tuscan order temple. It was restored circa 2017.
The is another shot in the PiP taken from a slightly different perspective.
Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend y'all..!!
Crocus
Snowdrops
Left to my own devices this morning while my wife met a friend for coffee, I went for a walk around our local cemetery..............and I found my first snowdrops of the year. Not the most beautiful surroundings, but I was still quite pleased.
Still Life with Red Glass Bottles
Taken indoors using an LED panel for lighting and a piece of pink card as a background. The bottles came from a charity shop........not the finest quality glass, but I liked the shapes and colour.
Check out the PiP for a differently processed version. Thanks for looking.
I don't have much time for commenting this evening as we're off out for an early dinner to celebrate an elderly friends 90th birthday, so if I've missed you, I'll catch up tomorrow :-)
Tangled..!!
We had a bit of sunshine today and so I had a drive out to our local country park for a walk. It was bitterly cold and I didn't stay out too long. This is a view from the path into the woods. Definitely no signs of spring around yet!
Macro Mystery...........is a mystery no more. See…
With all this miserable, grey weather we've been having, I've hardly taken any photos lately. So I decided to have a bit of fun with my macro lens.
Can anyone guess what it is? No prizes I'm afraid, but a yellow star to anyone who get's it right :-)))
Edit: 17th Feb @ 13:45.........Thank you to everyone who took part in this bit of fun. Well done to *ઇଓ* who guessed correctly that it is the synthetic fur around the hood of my wife's winter coat..!!
Not a Hedgehog..!!

Another Stansted forest find: This is an empty husk of a sweet chestnut, which has fallen from the tree.
Check out the PiP to see another that is in much better condition, taken in Autumn.

Emsworth Houses
Some of the beautiful houses that sit along the edge of the mill pond in Emworth, Hampshire.
Taken in 16:9 format, so best viewed large for detail. Thanks for looking.
A bit of colour to brighten your day..!!
Filigree......Nature's Version
The leaves came from my garden yesterday and I brought them indoors to dry out overnight. Photographed today on top of an LED light source.
Better viewed large, I think.
A flock of Pigeons
Flying over Emsworth Harbour, Hampshire.
I didn't see these coming until the last minute, so this was a grab-shot with virtually no preparation. I'm quite pleased how it turned out. Better viewed large, I think.
Ivy
I spotted this ivy climbing up a tree adjacent to the Mill Pond at Langstone Harbour. I particularly liked the different colours of the ivy leaves.
Moss Sporophytes
Wandering round my garden yesterday trying to find something to photograph, I found an old house brick which was covered in moss.
It was far too cold and windy to stay outside, and so I took the brick indoors and photographed the moss in natural window light. I used in-camera focus stacking to get maximum depth of field and a sheet of green card as a background.
There is anode shot in the PiP if you have time to look.
