PERFECTION! What a beauty. Love the angle here, the colors, reflection, and the square format. Such a beauty! You know, those darn ducks are one of the last straws that broke the camel's back for me...Steve was using our Canon 5D, Mk1 (!!) and I was still using my trusty point and shoot super zoom. Thing was...I'd finally learned what It was that I loved so much about that camera and its lenses: BOKEH! DETAIL! COLOR!... I'd been looking at his shots during the day and my pictures just didn't compare. I had a hissy fit. I MUST have my own fancy camera! For the longest time I loathed my older pictures but you know what I learned? They were GREAT shots. Just not the same. Now I love the pictures I took back then and appreciate all of the fine education I got from that camera! :)

A lovely story Janet.................I often think of deleting of some of my older images from here, but I have gradually learned to love them, so I'll be leaving them for others to look at!

Terrific capture Keith, spot on focus and a good light catching the iridescence of the Drakes head feathers.

I'm not surprised it is your favourite type of duck Keith. The males have such beautiful colours and the luminous green of their heads is gorgeous. The detail of the tiny water droplets on his feathers are stunning, as are the shapes and colours of the water. I think Mr Mallard would be very pleased with this shot :)
