Evening grosbeak

A few days ago we had a series of unexpected visitors in the garden.
One of them was this male Evening grosbeak. He landed less than two metres above my head and squawked until I turned around and looked up. I assumed he wanted his picture taken, so I obliged him.
He and his two female consorts posed for a few more shots afterwards but only he was so bold as to let me and my camera in this close.
