Arctic blue, a.k.a. Newfoundland Blue, butterfly

Sitting for an hour, a week or two ago, with an old friend (one whose career in wildlife and botany spanned forty years before he retired), I spotted two butterfly species while he spotted seven. I determined I would learn to see and to identify a few more this summer. This is my first homework project, the version of the Arctic Blue that many people here call the Newfoundland Blue. This was about four feet from my back door, on a potted plant.

And then, later, I find out I was wrong. Zero on my first homework. Apparently this is one of the spring azures.
